Centred in the heart of the Lake District, Scafell Trail Race™ will start and finish in Ambleside, the outdoor Mecca of the Lakes. This will mean accommodation is close at hand, public transport will take a runner from Manchester to Windermere in less than 2.5 hours and there are all the entrapments required to generate a post-race party atmosphere
Event Centre: The event centre will be located at the Ambleside Campus University of Cumbria. There will be showers for use post-race.
Accommodation: We are arranging, as we did last year, for in-expensive university accommodation.. watch this space....
Or why not try:
Ambleside also has a variety of B&B's, hotels and hostels. There is a YHA at Waterhead (about 20 minutes walk from the event centre) and there is the independant Ambleside backpackers (about 10 minutes walk from the event centre).
Car Parking: There are a variety of all day car parks in Ambleside, the closest to the event centre is at Rydal Road. Please do not park on residential streets, as the goodwill of the race relies on the goodwill of the residents of the village.
